Factors affecting the adaptation of rural settlements to the water crisis of Lake Urmia Case study: Miandoab County

Declining water level of Lake Urmia is one of the environmental crises that has affected the adaptation capacity of the villagers around it. As it has incurred great costs in economic, social and environmental dimensions for the rural residents around it. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to study the factors and forces affecting the adaptation capacity of rural settlements in the face of the drying crisis of Lake Urmia in the city of Miandoab. The research is applied in terms of purpose and Q-type in terms of implementation method. Participants in the study were 22 local managers (governorship experts, heads or employees of relevant government departments, districts, villages and Islamic councils) as well as local experts and experts who were selected using purposive sampling method (snowball). . Q statements were also compiled using first-hand sources (expert opinions, local managers, field observations, etc.) and coded sources (books, articles, publications, etc.) by library and field methods. . Q cards were also used to assess participantschr('39') attitudes. In order to analyze the data of the Q (Q) method matrices, heuristic factor analysis based on the individual method (Stanfson method) was used. The results showed that Factors affecting the increase of adaptation capacity to the drying of Lake Urmia in sample villages based on the attitude of experts in four groups of increasing economic capital and using natural resources with a specific amount of 5.40 and a percentage of variance of 24.55, increasing social capital And attracting investment with a special amount of 5.07 and a percentage of variance of 23.05, development of infrastructure facilities and improving the skills of villagers with a specific amount of 4.79 and a percentage of variance of 21.80 and economic diversification and improvement of rural management with a special amount 2.23 and the percentage of variance are 10.15. Among these groups, increasing economic capital and the use of natural resources is the most important factor in increasing the adaptation capacity of the studied villages against the drying up of Lake Urmia.
